One Year Devotion for Students。
A promise is a promise to keep。

The worst case scenario.....

但如果 I , me 和 myself 可以独自生存,那么 we 这字拿来干嘛?

» It's Been A Year

~ 10:18 AM ~
It's already been a year since my first post.... Time really flies.... Different people came into my life, teaching me to grow, to learn, to mature.... I guess I'm not the old self anymore.

Happy 1st Anniversary, my dear blog. I don't think it's easy to keep updating a blog, with all other things like studies to keep up with. But yeah, here I am, one year already.... Hehe, quite happy.

15 months in KTT.....
One year being the committee of KTT CF.....
AS 3 months ago.....
A2 in weeks to come.....
Graduation night soon.....

Things happen really fast. Sometimes, I can't really catch up with "Time".... All I can say it that, I still have like 10 more weeks here. It's kind of short, but it's enough for me to do whatever I want with this bunch of people, here in KTT...

No one knows what will happen in time to come. Who knows this might be the last time we see each other.... Who knows this is the only intersection point in our lives, where we can get to be with each other.... Life is full of mystery, and that's why life is interesting (:

you never know where it'll lead you to...

Ultimately, it's all His plans.... Everyone of them, every mystery, every unknown, every future.... and all of them will be unfolded when the time is right....

~ 9:12 PM ~

» Define The Relationship

~ 12:25 PM ~
Happy Birthday (: ....

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops?
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near?

What if trials of this life
Are Your mercies in disguise?

~Blessings~ by Laura Story

I've been repeating this song, again and again for these few days. It really kept me thinking about every single blessing we have been receiving all the while. This song was shared by Joshua Wong, during campus revolution like few days ago.

Looking at the world around us, we'll always feel that we are lack of something compared to others. We tend to focus on Loss more than Gain. And it's very true that we love to cry over spilled milk, rather than giving thanks for the other blessings we have.

It's nearly the end of our short journey being the committees, but then it's not the end of the race. I'm very sure all of us have been growing despite the problems that we faced throughout this one year. All of you are really blessings from God to me. Whenever I look back and think for awhile, I really want to thank God and all of you for inspiring me, working together with me, caring for me, and serving God with me.
My "Blessings", thanks (:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just realise that it's kind of weird for me to be awake at this time of the day. But then, today is quite special as we're having a fasting camp - 30-hour Famine, in our college. Though there were only 32 participants, everything moved on as planned. I was in-charge of the Famine Challenge 1, some sort of live game where people get to experience life in third-world country. I was quite relived when the whole thing is over. Phew, but it really kept me thinking about unpredictability of live.
In spite of the aim of the game to keep a child alive till the age of five, no one successfully did that. Some of them were dead and reborn for several times. Some manage to live till the age of 2 or 3, but some couldn't make it and die during delivery. I was quite amazed by the will power of some "parents" to actually work non-stop, just to feed their "children".
But then, life is unpredictable. I was the Game Master, making random disastrous announcement, to "Take Away" or "Give" Lives. But, my job is to fail them... And when a healthy "child" finally reached the age of 4, her life ended within seconds just like that.
Children are the motivation that pushes parents forward. Parents are willing to do anything and everything, just to make sure things are okay for their children. When their children are dead, they find no reason to continue to work.
Participants have been facing all sorts of problems - poverty, malnutrition, diseases, natural disasters... Every single problem I mentioned takes away lives of millions of children around the globe every year. Whenever we want to complain, just look at the world out there, and count every single blessings that we have. And remember to give thanks for everything that we have (:
渴望回到学校,但回到了这儿,
却不懂为何那么的想回来。
这学期应该不会很轻松,
昨日,生物老师,不懂干嘛心血来潮,
提议了什么Student-centred的教学方式。
数学老师,也丢给了我们
一大堆的功课,十分的“闲”。
偶尔,真的感觉到十分的空虚,
除了读书,还是读书,
感觉上好像没什么意义的。
没办法啦,学生嘛,任务就只有读书。
很多人,渴望有书读,
我们这些,得到了奖学金,还在那儿
哭爹喊娘的。。。真不懂我们在想什么。
昨夜,CF之前,Ivonne 搞了Pray & Fast
的这个东东。。。
短短的半小时,却让我回想了我生命中
不同的画面,
不知为何,我就是觉得,
自己好像很多方面都比不上人家,
虽然,别人时常都羡慕,
我在课业上的成就。
然而,我却不把这当成是什么丰功伟绩的。
望远一点,聪明的人多的很,
想深一点,自己真的是如此的渺小。
学校里,说到读书,哪个不知JianMeng是排第一的?
说到领导能力,有多少个 MPPs 要兼顾学业与MPP的任务?
人品优秀的,随便找,都一定能找到。
不是不知足,但我真的感觉到
外来的压力,
一点一滴,慢慢的累积,
心里真的不好受。
那就是为何,人人都说我,
一整天都在那儿,愁眉苦脸。
有时候真的找不到原因去笑,
微笑,狂笑,你们都去了哪儿?
这地方,这学院,让我学习了不少东西。
人也比较容易知足,对生活上的要求不多了,
只要珍惜当下,珍惜与家人的时间,孝敬父母;
珍惜与朋友的时间,知己难寻,
我们也不知,谁会先离谁而去。。。
这不是悲观,也不是杞人忧天;
这是世事,也是残酷的事实。。。
没有东西是理所当然的,
有了生命,那就是福气,
生命中其他的,比如
亲情,友情,关怀。。。
也就是大福了。
世上,很多人都没有了双亲,
终日为三餐而烦恼;
有的又百病缠身;
有的有困在战争中。
反问以下自己,我们都面对着这些吗?
仔细想一下,自己的要求是否多了一些?
戒食了几天,感觉的确不好受,
有时还会头晕晕的。
非洲那里,挨饿几个星期的小孩,多得很。
然而,我们生在福中不知福;
吃东西东挑西选,有时还吃不完,把食物扔掉。
我只想说的是,
”一个人的快乐,不是因为他拥有的多,而是因为他计较的少。“
无时无刻,我都会为未来而烦恼,
担心未来到底会是怎样的;
有时还会,回头望一望过去,
后悔曾经做过的错事。
这新的学期,时间是绝对不足够的,
下个星期,学弟学妹们就会前来报到,
他们一定会吓到得,
“那么简陋的学院”
“那么咖纳塞的地方”
议论纷纷。。。
希望你们在这里会成长,
会惜福,会恍然大悟,原来家里是多么的好。
会感恩。。。
我本身,也会搞好自己,
不会心动而不行动的。。。
四个月,说长不长,说短不短。。。
A2, 我来了!
未来,我也来了!
所以,不要为明天忧虑,因为明天自有明天的忧虑;一天的难处一天当就够了。
~马太福音 6 :34~
P/S: 兄弟,你也加油吧,年尾再聚了 (:
» Psalm 55:22
Wednesday, June 8, 2011
~ 9:05 AM ~
Psalm 55:22 - you really need to read this. Friends are God's way of taking care of us.'
This was written by a Metro Denver Hospice Physician:
I was driving home from a meeting this evening about 5, stuck in traffic on Colorado Blvd., and the car started to choke and splutter and die - I barely managed to coast into a gas station, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic and would have a somewhat warm spot to wait for the tow truck. The engine wouldn't even turn over. Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the quickie mart building, and it looked like she slipped on some ice and fell into a gas pump, so I got out to see if she was okay.
When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs than that she had fallen; she was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her up, and I picked it up to give it to her. It was a nickel.
At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman, the ancient Suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (1 in a car seat), and the gas pump reading $4.95.
I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying 'I don't want my kids to see me crying,' so we stood on the other side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to California and that things were very hard for her right now. So I asked, 'And you were praying?' That made her back away from me a little, but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, "He heard you, and He sent me."
I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump so she could fill up her car completely, and while it was fueling, walked to the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift certificates for more, and a big cup of coffee. She gave the food to the kids in the car, who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating fries and talking a little.
She told me her name, and that she lived in Kansas City . Her boyfriend left 2 months ago and she had not been able to make ends meet.. She knew she wouldn't have money to pay rent, and finally, in desperation, had called her parents, with whom she had not spoken in about 5 years. They lived in California and they said that she could come to live with them and try to get on her feet out there.
So she packed up everything she owned in the car. She told the kids they were going to California for Christmas, but not that they were going to live there.
I gave her my gloves, a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road.. As I was walking over to my car, she said, "So, are you like an angel or something?"
This definitely made me cry. I said, "Sweetie, at this time of year angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people."
It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of course, you guessed it, when I got in my car, it started right away and got me home with no problem. I'll put it in the shop tomorrow to check, but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong.
Sometimes the angels fly close enough to you that you can hear the flutter of their wings....
Psalms 55:22 'Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.'
» Dead Sea ...
Sunday, May 29, 2011
~ 12:00 AM ~
A message from "MASTERPIECE" =). Very Inspiring...
Sitting in the Geography class in school, I remember how fascinated I was when we were being taught all about the Dead Sea. As you probably recall, the Dead Sea is really a Lake, not a sea (and as my Geography teacher pointed out, if you understood that, it would guarantee 4 marks in the term paper!)
Its so high in salt content that the human body can float easily. You can almost lie down and read a book! The salt in the Dead Sea is as high as 35% - almost 10 times the normal ocean water. And all that saltiness has meant that there is no life at all in the Dead Sea. No fish. No vegetation. No sea animals. Nothing lives in the Dead sea.
And hence the name: Dead Sea.
While the Dead Sea has remained etched in my memory, I don't seem to recall learning about the Sea of Galilee in my school Geography lesson. So when I heard about the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea and the tale of the two seas - I was intrigued. Turns out that the Sea of Galilee is just north of the Dead Sea. Both the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea receive their water from river Jordan. And yet, they are very, very different.
Unlike the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee is pretty, resplendent with rich, colorful marine life. There are lots of plants. And lots of fish too. In fact, the sea of Galilee is home to over twenty different types of fishes.
Same region, same source of water, and yet while one sea is full of life, the other is dead. How come?
Here apparently is why. The River Jordan flows into the Sea of Galilee and then flows out. The water simply passes through the Sea of Galilee in and then out - and that keeps the Sea healthy and vibrant, teeming with marine life.
But the Dead Sea is so far below the mean sea level, that it has no outlet. The water flows in from the river Jordan, but does not flow out. There are no outlet streams. It is estimated that over a million tons of water evaporate from the Dead Sea every day. Leaving it salty. Too full of minerals. And unfit for any marine life.
The Dead Sea takes water from the River Jordan, and holds it. It does not give. Result? No life at all.
Think about it.
Life is not just about getting. Its about giving. We all need to be a bit like the Sea of Galilee.
We are fortunate to get wealth, knowledge, love and respect. But if we don't learn to give, we could all end up like the Dead Sea. The love and the respect, the wealth and the knowledge could all evaporate. Like the water in the Dead Sea.
If we get the Dead Sea mentality of merely taking in more water, more money, more everything the results can be disastrous. Good idea to make sure that in the sea of your own life, you have outlets. Many outlets. For love and wealth - and everything else that you get in your life. Make sure you don't just get, you give too. Open the taps. And you'll open the floodgates to happiness.
Make that a habit. To share. To give.
One man gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Liberal man will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
Proverbs 11 : 24 - 25
Time is fast, I just finished my Physics paper 2 three days ago... And I've been tired, and worried about things that's gonna happen... It's been awhile since I last had these feelings...
Fortunately, I know who to rely on during moment like this... And He'll never fail to put that smile back on my face, as promised...
Fear not, I am with you, I will strengthen you, I will help you and uphold you.
Isaiah 41 : 10
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This morning, Jude shared about Anxiety, Worries ... And I'm very sure it's no coincidence that it fitted perfectly with my current situation... Life is never a bed of roses, and being a Christian doesn't make your lives easier... He never promised a comfortable life, but a life filled with persecution, condemnation, sufferings, as no servant is greater than his master, and if Jesus was persecuted 2000 years ago, so will we...

Problems and difficulties are never ending, but what's the point of worrying about the future... Can anyone of us add an hour to our lives by just worrying??? I seriously doubt that anyone could even add a second to their lives by worrying... I guess we're just "people of little faith", that doubted God's ability and faithfulness towards us... Many of us rather rely on our own strength, own wisdom, own power to run the race of Life.... and guess what, these people are gonna end up nowhere and start to worry...

Our earthly parents have provided us with everything we ever needed, all the way from basic necessities like Love, Care to things like iPhone 4G, and some lucky kid even got a Toyota as a birthday present... If our earthly parents loved us and provided us with all these, what more can our heavenly Daddy, that we cry out to everytime, provide us with???

When I was young, getting "Stars" from teachers in school was such an achievement... But as time passes by, "Stars" can no longer fulfill my worldly desire... It was then replaced by Sweets, (I guess every kids love them)... But as this desire within me grows with time, I realized that even a JPA scholarship for a 6 years Medicine course couldn't make me any happier....

Shouldn't we cast all our worries onto Him, and trust in Him that He'll take care of them?? Shouldn't we be faithful enough to trust that He'll always provide us with the best?? I guess it's pretty obvious that all of us should do so, right??

It's time for us to reflect upon ourselves... Do you really think you're SOMEBODY, who are worthy of everything you desire ??? Or are you a worthless speck of matter in the this universe, but still precious in God's eyes?? I always had this mindset that I'm better, better than any other JPA scholars, and of course deserve better treatment... But I know it's never right to doubt His plan for me...

"He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife, But he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered. He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But whoever walks wisely will be delivered"
Proverbs 28 : 25 - 26

"Heavenly Father, I trust in you, and I'll commit myself, everything I am, and all my plans, whole-heartedly into your hands... I pray that You'll strengthen me, and draw me closer to you... So that I may grow to be like You..."

When we were young, we believe that God is almighty, and nothing is impossible in Him...and we literally meant what we talked about and sang in Sunday School...
But as we grow older, this childlike faith faded over time...

Can we be like these kids??? Always happy and grateful with the sweets our Heavenly Daddy provided us with...
If we are faithless, he remains faithful...
2 Timothy 2 : 13

See, God is always that comforting ... =)

It's been nearly a month since the last post, I guess exams are doing a good job keeping me busy... Have been studying lately, since everyone is also doing so... It's been quite happening for the last month, and I really thank God for that... though the studying part is monotonous and tiring... For now Math is done, Biology mostly done, guess it's time to give myself a short break, as I am seriously worn-out physically, mentally and spiritually... For now, I'm seriously vulnerable to almost anything...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the 29th of April, I went to Edwin's place in Kajang... Felt kinda awkward at first, but his family really made me felt at home... Celebrated his 20th birthday, with his family in Manhattan Fish Market, it was really a good experience, feeling belong, cared for, even if I'm not at home... Had great meals over there, Satay Kajang, home-cooked dishes by Aunty Irene... I really do think that I put on some weight.... Thanks Edwin for being a great friend to me despite my attitude towards you.... >.<
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

By the way, I just turned 19 two days ago.... Life is fast and short, huh??? I wonder how many more birthdays can I celebrate.... Thank God, for bringing me into this world =) Thank you Daddy and Mummy for making it possible as well =P This year is the second year I celebrate my birthday outside home... Honestly, I do really miss all those moments when my family sing the birthday song for me... But, I'm very grateful this year, that although my birthday always falls on exams period, my friends in KTT gave me a serious surprise this year... Last year, my Mcnairian buddies brought me to the Pool, but this year they brought the "Pool" to me, TWICE !!!!! Despite being SO smart, as I thought, I was seriously fooled by them.....

They plotted some fake birthday one day before the real celebration, and I do admit that it really disappoint me, in one way or the other.... But, I'm really grateful that they come despite the exams period... U guys are awesome man.... The real one was more... SHOCKING, cause I really thought that it was over... I'm surprised, stunned for a moment, and most importantly touched for whatever you guys did for me.... Thanks Kuang, Soo, Kok Boon, for the giant birthday card, Yong Kee, for his brilliant idea, Edwin for a shirt, John , my angel, for a shirt as well, and another 2 SHIRTS, from you guys..... If my math isn't wrong, I've got a total of 4 SHIRTS this year..... >.< Thanks all, Xiong, KianPoh... and all of you guys that make it possible... Loads and Loads of appreciation...

Group Pics "Lynton 帅不帅?"

Happy Birthday "Lyton" =)

Thanks Kian Poh =)

I really do know everyone tried to make it possible.... thanks for all the effort..... I really do appreciate it.......

Thanks Uncle Chan and Family for the cake...... That's so sweet of you all =)

» Easter Sunday
Monday, April 25, 2011
~ 6:57 PM ~
Yesterday was indeed special, it was because Jesus died and rose again approximately 2000 years ago... We went for Easter Sunday Service at First Baptist Church at Petaling Jaya... and it took us around an hour to reach there from Nilai... I slept in the bus the whole time =)

The praise & worship was awesome, but our choir was even better =P ... We presented 2 songs, "Oh Happy Day" and "Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus" ... The speaker was talking about contrast between Fear and Boldness, highlighted in the book of Mark 15 : 43 - 16 : 8 ... Will you risk you reputation, personal belongings, and even your life, for Jesus, like John of Arimathea? Or will you rather be like the women who fear to proclaim the truth?

FEAR inhibits FAITH, both of these cannot coexist... There's always a price to pay, something to give up, if we chose to follow Jesus... Why do we felt embarrassed proclaiming our christian faith? Do opinions and perception of others really matter that much? We can never follow Him in a distance, we need to be bold and courageous for Him, like Paul, who can go the distance for Christ...

Once again, I would like all of us to ponder upon our own faith as Christ died and resurrected 2000 years ago, for us... He bore all the pain and humiliation, for us, unclean unworthy sinners... How do we overcome our own fear, fear to proclaim His victory?? It can only be done, if and only if we fear the Lord who is in control of everything, and anything.

Does His death sharpen and strengthen your faith in Him??

Will you Risk @ Run ???

He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”
Mark 4 : 40

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was indeed a long day, because I've to finish up something real important... Something to really bring the Easter's atmosphere to this very college... Though it's a bit late, but better late than never =) We have been spending hours, working diligently day and night, to finish our little gift, for everyone in our college...
It all begin with packets of flour, and 300 balloons... And thanks to everyone, who came and supported our effort, and make it possible and successful one...
It was very tedious and boring, especially when there were only few of us doing it... But, thank God for giving me the momentum to carry one, till we finish the very last one, last night 10.14 pm..... Hahahaha.... Finally it's over.....
Special thanks to Jeremy Wee, and Kenneth for coming nearly everyday to help, I really do appreciate your hard work...
Everything is nearly over, but Advanced Subsidiary is only 2 weeks from now... Time to work really hard ..."Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
» Thank You for Your Love
~ 10:50 AM ~
It's Good Friday today, I never know why is it called so... Just that, I know that He, Jesus Christ was crucified and died for us on the cross... to give us eternal salvation... There are millions of thoughts in my mind, grateful and feel blessed that He never gave up on me ever since I deviated from Him years ago...
Recently, one of my friends went for a 42km Marathon, and he told me that it wasn't easy... And yes, I do believe in Him, running in the darkness alone, I can't imagine the path of life like that, Dark.... Lonely.... Helpless.... This kind of life, will just keep on reminding me of giving up...
But, instead of leaving us in the darkness, He sent His only son, all out of Love, to finish the Marathon of pain, sufferings, humiliation and crucifixion, to give us life, eternal life... As He said, I came that you may have life, and have it abundantly. I'm grateful for Love, and Grace that He gave unconditionally, so incomprehensible, yet so real... and nothing ever feel so real, so promising, and comforting...
I was changed, one year ago, because I finally discovered His amazing love... and that transformed me inside out, for the better... and since then, I was never myself, the old me again... I've rededicated my life to Him... Some of my friends, never expect this drastic change in me, but I'll never look back to savor a little bit longer in my sinful past...
Though I do know that, not everyone I know, like me for who I am, but I'm seriously working on it... I seriously want to thank all my mentors, Kelvin, Jeremy, Andrea, Chris, and now, Edwin... Thank you for not giving up on me...
Thank you, Jesus for not giving up on me, and gave me chances after chances... I'll do my best in everything to bring glory and honor unto Your name...
There's no greater Love than His,
that He lay down His life for His friends.
John 15 : 13
» 人的一生,像乘坐一台公車
这是我一位朋友所转寄给我的。。。
我们知道它有起点和終点,却无法预知沿途的经历。
有的人行程长,有的人行程短。
有的人很从容,可以欣赏窗外的景色。
有的人很窘迫,总处于 推搡和拥挤之中。
然而与悬挂在车门上、随时可能掉下去的人相比,似乎又感到欣慰。
获得舒適与优雅,座位是必不可少的机会,因此总是被人们争抢。
有的人很幸运,一上车就能落座。
有的人很倒楣,即使全车的人都坐下了,他依然站着。
有时,別处的座位不断地空出來,唯独身旁这个毫无动静。
而當你下定決心走向別处,刚才那個座位的人却正好离开。
为了坐上或保住座位,有的人漠视良心,甚至伤害他人。
有的人却因为这样那样的原因,不得不將到手的座位让給他人。
有的人用了种种的方式,历了长长的等待,终于可以坐下。
但这是他已经到站了。。。
下车的一刻,他回顾车厢,也许会为区区一个座位而感慨,自以为大徹大悟。
其实即使重新來過,他依然会去争抢,因为有是如果不坐下,连站的位置都沒有。
除非你永远不上車,而着并不由自己決定。
到站的人下了,车上的人还在。
依然熙熙攘攘,依然上上下下。。。
當生活是一种快了的时候,生命就会充滿喜悅
當生活成了责任,生命就是一种奴隶。
但如果快乐和责任放在一起,快乐就是一种责任了。
活得好,有各种的理由,但社会上給我們的观念
则是有钱走遍天下,无钱寸步难行。
却成为我们人生在世的一种迷思了。
猶记新闻报道,有个富翁自觉什么都拥有了
所以就跳楼自殺,但他似乎是缺少了快了的动力。
有钱我们更需要快乐,工作是义务,但快乐则是责任了。
快乐要怎么寻得呢?
是不是, 花了一辈子,一生人追求荣华富贵?追求所谓的人生目标?
我们每一个人,到站时,都被逼要下车,这是不可能改变的事实。。。
唯一在我们掌控之中的是,在车上的一切。。。
我们会是盲目争抢座位的人吗?
我们知不知道,上车的目的,上车最大的宗旨?
当我们知道,下车时,会停在哪一站, 我们绝对不会在乎,车上的座位。。。
我们只要知道,他会在我们下车的那一站,等待着我们。。。
你们现在也是忧愁,但我要再见你们,
你们的心就喜乐了;这喜乐也没有人能夺去 。
I can't login my facebook today, some kind of crap just happened to it.... I don't know whether is it permanent or temporary.... Anyway, I'm not happy....
But there is something that made my day.... I finally gave up my ego, and once again accept someone and forget about the past... It did happened, but it was already the past... Thanks Pastor Edwin, for the long sharing last night... I finally "Reincarnate" after being socially dead for the past month... I have my Pre-AS next week, but I guess there's nothing to worry, as long as I'm "Giving My Best".... I won't feel sorry, or regretful if I don't get what I want, or expect...
I was thinking that, I can plan whatever I want, and work hard for it, even till the extent of giving up something I treasure so much... But whether it succeeds or not, it's not up to me to decide after all... It was quite stressful for the past weeks, being stuck with loads of books to study, and syllabus to cover... Sometimes, I just feel like a loser... but in fact, I'm not one.... sigh...
A less productive day today, didn't really spent much time on studies, will make up tomorrow I guess.... And I still have to be in charge of Praise and worship despite the upcoming exams.... Never forget this verse,
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well.
~Matthew 6 : 33~
And yeah my dad reminds me of that when I told him about it, I guess I should know my role, my part to play being a Christian. I should know how to prioritize stuff, and put God first in anything I do.... I always knew that following Him is to give up everything, and anything.... And I'm trying my best to follow Him, to be a Disciple of Christ, not merely a believer... I'll just commit every part of my life into Your hands, and You'll make wonders and miracles will happen :)
P/S: To my friend, I really do appreciate for today, you've made my day.....
I do mean it =)
This is one very interesting story to share =D
In Washington DC , at a Metro Station, on a cold January morning in 2007, this man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, 1,067 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After about 3 minutes, a middle-aged man noticed that there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds, and then he hurried on to meet his schedule.
About 4 minutes later:
The violinist received his first dollar. A woman threw money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.
At 6 minutes:
A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.
At 10 minutes:
A 3-year old boy stopped, but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head the whole time. This action was repeated by several other children, but every parent - without exception - forced their children to move on quickly.
At 45 minutes:
The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.17, excluding $20 from the only person who recognized him.
After 1 hour:
He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed and no one applauded. There was no recognition at all.
No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin Gibson Stradivarius worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before, Joshua Bell sold-out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100 each to sit and listen to him play the same music.
This is a true story. Joshua Bell, playing incognito in the D.C. Metro Station, was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities.
This experiment raised several questions:
*In a common-place environment, at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty?
*If so, do we stop to appreciate it?
*Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?
One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this:
If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made . . .
How many other things are we missing as we rush through life? When we are rushing through our lives, are we missing out our one and only personal savior, Jesus? Do we even recognize Him, when He came into our lives? Are you the one and only person, who recognizes, stops and follows Him?
Talking about Boy-Girl Relationship, people at our age are quite interested to know more about it... including me... But, nowadays, from what I can see, 2 people come together, and become couple, just for the sake of being together, enjoying the companionship, without considering about the commitment and responsibilities of being together with someone... Bro Chris came last Wednesday, and talk something about BGR during our Christian Fellowship...And it really hit me...
What is the purpose and reason of two people getting hooked up? Is it merely just because of the fun and enjoyment of having a companion, someone who text you from time to time, someone who will chat with you throughout the night?? I don't know but sometimes, teenagers like us, often undergoes some sort of chemical or hormonal disorder, that is when we tends to think that we are in LOVE with the special he or she...And we ended up in a broken relationship...
What's the point of going for the hunt, seeking for your own perfect match??? Your 10/10 perfect boy@girlfriend?? Have you ever wonder, when that person suddenly appear in your lives, will you be ready to get involve?? Will he or she also think that you are the perfect match??? What if the answers are "NO"?? Instead of waiting for the perfect one to appear, you might as well get yourself ready, ready for the best, make yourself the 100% perfect guy@girl that every other person dreamt of...
What is LOVE?? Many have misused this word to express their feeling of infatuation, the mere desire to be with that person...But what LOVE really shows, is a kind of selfless sacrifice, a life-long dedication to be with your love one... Can most of us do that?? Are we ready to get involve in this kind of Holy Covenant?? Or is it okay to get involve in several relationships, not the serious kind, but just for the sake of having fun??
If we all really put God in the center of everything, including our relationships, there are many things to consider, many rules to follow, when the Bible is our Authority for us to run our lives... Let's us live our lives according to what the Bible said, be a Godly person, submit to Him, and He will surely complete the Missing piece of your Jigsaw puzzle.....
When you are ready, the right person will appear in the right place, the right time, for the right reason ....A vow is a vow, its a serious promise, a Holy Covenant that shouldn't be broken... Here goes the Wedding vows,
I _____, take you ______, to be my wedded wife/husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish 'till death do us part. And hereto I pledge you my faithfulness.
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.
» What if.....
Monday, February 21, 2011
~ 9:32 PM ~
Just this morning, I realise something... Something very sudden, something very frightening, something you never even thought about... What if, someone you love, someone you cherish so much, someone you can't afford to lose, suddenly bids an eternal farewell to you... This thought seriously never came into my mind, not until this morning, when I woke up due to an unusual weird dream, where I lost somebody so important to me... He just managed to say goodbye, through a phone call, before he took his last breath... I was crying in that dream, crying and seeking for something, something that can soothe me, calm me... What if, you received a phone call, telling you that, your dad, or your mum suddenly just leave this world... I never knew what would happen to me, I guess I'll just be like a person who lost all the reasons the live in this world...
Many of my friends lost their parents, their friends, their love ones... and I dunno how they really felt, but things had already happen, there's nothing you can do to bring them back, there's no point crying over what had just happened... All of them, no most, but all of them, have to stand up, forget about grieving, crying, all those tears and pain, and move forward... Whenever you asked them how you felt about it, a typical answer would be, " Like this lo, what can I do".... Although I myself witness so many deaths, so many people leaving this world, I'm still not prepared to accept the news about the deaths of my love ones....
Sigh, just got a news that my friend, Firelynx, was still admitted in the hospital... And I'm here, knowing nothing about what's happening over there... Worries consumed me, awful thoughts filled my brain... I really don't know what'll happen next... The world isn't fair...
How will our life be, without them... Miserable?? Meaningless?? It's not easy to admit especially if they are our parents, our siblings, but all of these are only worldly possession, which are so, so, so temporary... It'll be gone just like that... It's not easy to give up all of these to Him, He who manipulates everything in His hand... What will you answer if God ask you, "Can I have your daddy in heaven with me now ?" I really don't know... I seriously don't know...
Have you ever thought about, what if tomorrow you can no longer wake up, you can no longer breathe, and open your eyes... Where will you be when that time comes... Are you lost ? Or are you certain of where you're heading ?? Some of us are not worry about this... as we know who we are, because of Him... But, how about our love ones?? Do they have salvation like you do??? Jesus Christ, gave up Himself for us, so that He who knew no sin, will have to die for we sinners on the cross ; and by that we will receive salvation and live forever more...
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
~Galatians 2:20
Now, will you reach for Him, if He reach for you???
